Product Care

Follow the helpful tips below to maintain the longevity of your mohair product while keeping it looking great!• Store your garment in a cool dry place. Do not store in plastic.• Do not spray perfume directly on garment, especially if it is white.• Do not keep knitted Mohair garments on hangers; rather fold and store on a shelf.• To fluff up your garment, lightly shake or gently brush down by hand.• Soak in tepid water using mild detergent recommended for washing wool, or even hair shampoo.• Very gently agitate by hand to dislodge dirt particles. Do not agitate unduly.• Rinse in clean, cool water. A small amount of fabric softener can be used if desired.• Hang or lay flat to dry (mohair dries quite quickly). When dry, a brisk shake or brush (with a stiff hair brush) will restore the pile. Gentle coaxing, rather than firm strokes, is advised to ease out tangle and create the downy pile for which Mohair is renowned.

Warm reminder

You can wash by hand in a wash basin, bathtub, or even a sink. It is also safe to use the gentle cold cycle of your washing machine. If you opt to machine wash, it is important to use a mesh zip bag or pillowcase to protect your mohair from tangling or snagging during the wash cycle. Once your mohair piece is washed and rinsed, the final and most crucial step follows:lay flat in its natural shape to air dry! Never put woollens in the dryer. Machine drying woollens will cause them to shrink and harm the integrity of fibers. Wear woollens with pride, knowing you learned how to wash mohair at home!Mohair is delicate, but you don’t need to dry clean it. Spare yourself the chemical bath and the hassle by washing safely at home with wool shampoo or shampoo.Do not bleach. Do not iron. Do not tumble dry. Do not ring.Avoid direct exposure to the sun for long periods and avoid open flames.
