1. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website, purchasing products, or engaging with Local is Lekker ZA, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Returns Policy, Privacy Policy, and Shipping Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18+ or use the site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
3. Products & Artisanship
All products are proudly made in South Africa. Due to their handmade nature, slight variations in size, colour, and finish may occur and are not considered defects. We make every effort to display our products as accurately as possible. However, because our items are often handmade by local artisans, and because device screens and lighting conditions can drastically alter how colours appear, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will be a perfect match to the physical item. Slight colour variances are not considered manufacturing defects. Furthermore, in accordance with Section 53 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) 68 of 2008, natural variations inherent to handmade, artisanal South African products (such as slight differences in wood grain, leather texture, or ceramic glaze) do not constitute a material defect.
4. Account Registration
You may need to create an account to make purchases. You are responsible for:

- Providing accurate and up-to-date information
- Keeping your login credentials secure
5. Payment
We accept the following payment methods:
- PayFast
- Stitch
- EFT (bank transfer)
Orders are processed once full payment is received. Payment security is managed by third-party providers.
6. Pricing
All prices include VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Obvious Pricing Errors: We take every precaution to ensure our pricing is accurate. However, in the event of an inadvertent and obvious pricing error, we are not bound to fulfill the order at the incorrect price, as outlined in Section 23(9) of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) 68 of 2008. If an error is discovered, we will notify you and offer the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.

We currently ship within South Africa only. Deliveries are subject to third-party courier terms. Local collection is available by prior arrangement.
Incorrect Shipping Details & Unclaimed Parcels: The customer is entirely responsible for providing the correct shipping address and contact details at checkout. If a package is returned to us by the courier due to an incorrect/incomplete address provided by the buyer, or because the buyer failed to receive the package after multiple delivery attempts, the buyer will be responsible for the courier fees required to resend the package. If the buyer chooses to cancel the order instead of paying for re-delivery, a refund will be issued minus the original courier fees and a 10% administration/restocking fee.
Abandoned Goods: If a returned item, exchanged item, or undeliverable parcel remains unclaimed by the customer, and the customer fails to respond to our communications or pay required re-delivery fees within 90 days of our first notice, the goods will be deemed abandoned. Local is Lekker ZA reserves the right to resell or donate the abandoned goods to defray administrative and storage costs, with no further refund or compensation owed to the buyer.

9. Custom and Personalised Products
Custom or personalised items are non-returnable unless defective. Please ensure details such as size, spelling, and colours are correct before placing your order.
10. Bulk, Corporate, and B2B Orders
Purchases made for commercial purposes, including goods bought by a business or individual to supply a third-party client, are classified as Business-to-Business (B2B) transactions. Under Section 1 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) 25 of 2002, a “consumer” is legally defined as a natural person acting as the end-user of the goods. Therefore, commercial and B2B purchases are exempt from the standard 7-day consumer cooling-off period outlined in Section 44 of the ECTA.
Because we operate on a consignment model to proudly support local South African makers, the sale of bulk or commercial orders is finalized once the stock is dispatched and allocated directly to the artisan. Therefore, all bulk, corporate, and B2B orders are strictly non-refundable and cannot be returned in the event of over-ordering, client cancellations, or a change of mind, unless the items are physically defective.
11. Stock Availability & Right to Cancel
All orders are subject to product availability. While we strive to keep our inventory perfectly synced, errors may occasionally occur. If an item you ordered is out of stock or unavailable, we reserve the right to cancel that portion of your order. In this event, we will notify you immediately and issue a full refund for the unavailable item. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including suspected fraud or pricing errors.
12. Warranty
All products—excluding books and perishable items—are covered under the Consumer Protection Act’s 6-month implied warranty. This warranty covers defects not disclosed at the time of sale and excludes any damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear.

14. Intellectual Property
All content on our website—including logos, photos, and text—is the property of, or licensed to, Local is Lekker ZA. You may not copy, reproduce, or use any material without written permission.
15. Liability
We are not liable for:
- Delivery delays caused by third-party couriers
- Damage due to misuse or failure to follow care instructions
- Natural variations in handmade products
- Force Majeure (Events Beyond Our Control): Local is Lekker ZA shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to fulfill our obligations under these Terms if such delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, severe weather, natural disasters, courier strikes, national crises, or severe power outages/load shedding affecting infrastructure.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
