The Inspiration: 

Where our brand, KleinKaroo Kaviar, originated. We were captivated by the mysterious allure of the legend of the Karoo Mermaid, a mysterious figure believed to roam the arid landscapes of the Klein Karoo. Locals share stories of encounters with a beautiful woman sporting blue eyes, pink cheeks, and a fish-tail, lounging beside mountain pools. Is she a mere myth or a lingering spirit from an ancient underwater era?

​Over 250 million years ago, the Klein Karoo was submerged beneath the sea, leaving behind the iconic Cango Caves and, some say, the legend of the Mermaid. Unravel the tales of bygone eras and ponder if this elusive figure is a remnant of a forgotten aquatic era, haunting the desert.
