Feeling down?

Blog 29

Dear Readers,

Being a busy stay-at-home mom, homeschooling my three children, running my own small business (and everything that comes with it) as a one-woman show, doing the books for the farm, working freelance for other companies, and trying to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle, can get HECTIC!

The hardest part of everything (for me): dealing with social media. Having to find the time to create content daily and deal with negative messages, can really weigh me down. To give you an idea, one reel can take up to an hour to edit. That excludes the time to come up with the idea and film the content. One negative message or comment really knocks my confidence and I tend to dwell on the negativity a bit too long for my own good.

Until I get bombarded with positive messages by true followers and fans! Positive messages really get me through the tough moments and keep me motivated to keep doing what I am doing. So, thank you to all the wonderful people who have taken the time to pop me a message, post a review or leave a kind comment on my posts. I appreciate them more than you know.

How do I deal with feeling down? Firstly, I try to avoid it!

I believe that when you wake up in the morning, you have a choice. You can choose what attitude you will face the day with. I choose positivity, patience and kindness.

Yes, life throws curveballs at me, but that is when I lean into my faith and give it all to God. It is really hard sometimes to let it go, but, then I remember what my mom always tells me. You can’t worry and pray at the same time, so I pray.

Unfortunately, there are times where we just feel down (sometimes for no good reason). When everything seems too much and we just can’t cope. I feel like that sometimes, too. I just want to throw in the towel and call it a day. Social media is not a true reflection of real life. We only post all the pretty, positive parts of our lives. Never the moments of pain, feeling down or overwhelmed. I’m here to tell you, that if you don’t have those moments, you are not human. We all have them.

We have to push through, because I can promise you, God will always shine light into those dark parts of your life. No matter how dark and down they are. Just be patient, stay in prayer and let Jesus take the wheel for a while. I hope this message helps anyone feeling down in the dumps today.

With love,

Kayleigh
