Proudly South African
I am Kayleigh, a dedicated farmer’s wife, and a devoted mother to three delightfully wild children: Sophia, Asher, and Isla-Mae. Alongside my husband, Devon, we reside in the picturesque region of Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal. Before embracing the joys of motherhood and marriage, my academic pursuits led me to dive into Plant Pathology and Microbiology at UKZN in Pietermaritzburg, culminating in the achievement of my BSc Honours degree. I have since completed my Masters degree in Ecology and Conservation, forging a strong bond with the natural world and its preservation.
Driven by my passion for learning and education, I have taken on the responsibility of homeschooling my children, instilling in them a profound appreciation for nature and its wonders. Drawing from my background in teaching and my love for creativity, I embarked on a literary journey, crafting materials that are both informative and engaging. My books are a reflection of our family’s adventures in the wilderness, immersing readers in the realms of wildlife, birding, conservation, and farming.
I have always nurtured a deep affection for reading, writing, research, and painting, which have allowed me to infuse my works with captivating creativity. These captivating tales provide not only an enjoyable read but also offer valuable insights into the magnificent world of nature and conservation. Furthermore, through my conservation project, the Vulture Awareness Project Zululand, in collaboration with Wildlife ACT, I am committed to providing educational resources about our endangered vulture species to schools throughout South Africa.
I cordially invite you to explore the exciting narratives, gain knowledge about the incredible wildlife we encounter, and contribute to the noble cause of vulture conservation by supporting the Wild Wear range. Your purchase will make a tangible difference in spreading awareness and fostering appreciation for our precious wildlife.
Thank you for your kind support and interest in my journey. Together, we can make a significant impact on preserving the beauty and wonders of nature for generations to come.

The primary objective of this project is to raise awareness among the local communities of Zululand, specifically in the region between Magudu and Pongola, where vultures utilize the valley as a breeding site, and are confronted with numerous challenges that threaten their survival and prosperity.
Wildkidsbooksa is dedicated to equipping every school in the area with educational materials that impart knowledge about vulture species, their ecological significance, the perilous situations they face, and the collaborative efforts required to safeguard these remarkable birds from extinction.
The project will expand to other critically endangered species as well.We need your help. Please consider supporting this initiative before it is too late.

We are working closely with the Wildlife Act to ensure this project is spearheaded in the right direction. Books are created by Kayleigh at no cost and printing of the books will rely on funds raised. The end goal is to eventually provide educational material, in a variety of languages, across all of South Africa and eventually along the routes that vultures travel.
The project will expand to other critically endangered species as well.
