What's coming before the end of 2024

Blog 17

Dear Readers,

I am delighted to present an exclusive preview of the exciting books and projects slated for the second half of 2024.

I am thrilled to have you accompany me on this journey as I continue to write, illustrate, and self-publish stories that inspire and captivate young minds.

Upcoming Study Units: I am in the final stages of editing six meticulously crafted study units designed for children ages 5-9, set to be released later this year. These units encompass a range of practical skills including gardening, nature exploration, woodworking, survival skills, sewing, and kitchen skills. Each unit features 30 weeks of hands-on activities with no worksheets involved. They will be available either as complete kits (with all necessary materials and tools included) or as PDF downloads.

New Books to Anticipate

1. Phonics Readers for Grade 2 Learners: The first six phonics readers are now available for purchase in my shop. Additional readers will be released over the next few months. These books focus on phonetic sounds and reiteration of sight words, following the Little Readers series for Grade 1 learners.

2. Asher’s Camping Cookbook: This fantastic cookbook is filled with fun camping recipes for children. It’s an essential addition for any camping adventure.

3. Diaries 2025: New diaries for girls and boys will be released in September 2024, along with a monthly-view ladies’ desk calendar.

4. Christmas Countdown Colouring-In Book: Back by popular demand, this sell-out favorite will return just in time for the holiday season.

5. Homeschool Planner 2025 (PDF): A comprehensive 2025 homeschool planner will be available towards the end of the year. It includes legal information on homeschooling in South Africa, printable templates, planners, suggestions, themes, and more—an essential tool for homeschooling parents.

Upcoming Projects and Collaborations

1. Vulture Awareness Books (Collaboration with Wildlife ACT): These books are in the final stages of being translated into isiZulu and will soon be printed and distributed to schools in the Underberg and Zululand districts. They aim to raise awareness about the critical role vultures play in our ecosystem and the threat of poisoning they face daily.

2. Timbavati Foundation Collaboration: Local is Lekker ZA and Wildkidsbooksa are teaming up to sponsor goodies and books for the Timbavati Foundation, supporting their educational initiatives.

3. Eco-Friendly Calendar (Flipping the Script on Eco-Living): A collaboration with Anke von Fintel, from African Flame, this flip desk calendar features monthly themes designed to inspire small changes that collectively have a significant impact on living a greener life. See her Instagram tag below.

I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement from readers like you. Your enthusiasm fuels my passion and drives me to create stories that resonate with young minds. Stay tuned for more updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and practical tips for aspiring authors and self-publishers.

With warmest regards,

Kayleigh
